Sunday Drawing

This past weekend I saw am image of a tray in a catalog that inspired me, so on Sunday I decided to do a little drawing/collage work! Materials used: magic markers, crayons, watercolors, ball point pen and credit card receipts. It was a great, fun, mindless way to spend a Sunday!

Grow your own Crystal Tree!

This weekend, Jonathan and I had a little fun playing with some of the toys he (I mean Santa) put in my Christmas stocking. I had never heard of a Crystal Tree, but apparently they are pretty bomb. Once you assemble the tree (stick it together) and add the Magical Crystal Solution (do not eat) all you have to do is wait while your Crystal Tree comes to life right before your very eyes!

Yea, Magical Crystal Tree! You provided at least 18 full hours of entertainment (and only cost $1)! PS: You might notice the Polar Bear in the cage next to the Magic Crystal Tree - he was one of those "stick me in water and I grow 18 times my height" guys - but the Magic Crystal Tree was FAR more interesting. Sorry, Grow Kinda Big Bear... you lose this round...

San Francisco

Earlier this month Jonathan and I had the opportunity to go visit one of our oldest friends in San Francisco. It was an amazing trip and (with our expert guide) we were able to explore the city + the beautiful attractions lying just outside of the city (which I much preferred!) Baby Shower Invitation

This is an invitation I created for my friend/co-worker Mallory (adorable, right?). She is having a baby girl and her nursery colors are gray and yellow (trés chic). She wanted her invitations to be sweet yet modern and fun - and she has a total thing for elephants - so I wanted to incorporate that into the design. I am (and she was too) super pleased with the final design and it will be for sale on Etsy soon!

Two Thousand Eleven

I don't make New Years Resolutions (mainly because I feel that is you want to do something you should just get off your butt and do it) and this year is no exception. However, in the future I do want to step away from the computer and draw, sketch and paint more. So, yesterday I (got off my butt) and did some pseudo-blind contour sketching for the first time in a long time. They weren't great, but I had fun and it inspired me, so let's see if I can keep it up!
