Laura Owens is an American painter who emerged in the late 1990s. She is best known for her mixed media paintings of animals and landscapes that incorporate a variety of art historical references and painterly techniques. She lives and works in Los Angeles.
I came across her work in the Phaidon book Vitamin P: Perspectives in Paintings back in 2005 and have followed her career ever since. I love her style and how it has evolved over the years and I can't wait to see what great pieces she will create in the future.
